Troubleshoot Brand Safety & Brand Suitability
Pre-launch Brand Safety support
For pre-launch Brand Safety targeting, please share the campaign's requirements, alongside the below pieces of information with your Teads Customer Experience representative:
Verification provider for Brand Safety, Brand Suitability and Ad Fraud measurement/blocking
Brand's tolerance level to Brand Safety risk
Custom Brand Safety and Brand Suitability requirements
Troubleshooting for specific Verification providers
Grapeshot
If you're using Grapeshot for Brand Safety and are facing a high unsafe rate, according to MOAT, select the appropriate level of Grapeshot Brand Safety protection based on the brand's requirements. If uncategorized inventory is not permitted, ensure that the high/advanced level of protection is selected.
Communicate any specific needs for excluding topics not covered by Grapeshot to your Teads Account Manager to create a Custom Brand Suitability segment.
Integral Ad Science (IAS)
If you're using IAS for Brand Safety and Brand Suitability and are facing a high fail rate, select the appropriate level of IAS Brand Safety protection based on the brand's requirements. If moderate or low risk inventory is not permitted, please ensure that the high/advanced level of protection is selected.
Also, ensure that the Brand Suitability and Custom Keyword List segment IDs that are applied in IAS are replicated within the Teads Ad Manager platform, for each line item within the campaign.
Any Website Exclusion List or Geo-Targeting applied in IAS' settings is also applied to the targeting in Teads Ad Manager.
DoubleVerify
If you're using DoubleVerify for Brand Safety and Brand Suitability and are facing a high incident rate, select the appropriate level of DoubleVerify Brand Safety protection based on the brand's requirements. If low risk inventory is not permitted, ensure that the high/advanced level of protection is selected.
Also, ensure that the Brand Suitability segment IDs that are applied in DoubleVerify are replicated within the Teads Ad Manager platform, for each line item within the campaign.
Any Website Exclusion List, App Exclusion List or Geo-Targeting applied in DoubleVerify's settings is also applied to the targeting in Teads Ad Manager.
Should the campaign being seeing a high incident rate for segments that sit outside of the DoubleVerify Brand Suitability taxonomy, it's likely that the campaign has Contextual Avoidance segments applied. Despite this being a separate product, DoubleVerify buckets this offering with Brand Suitability for reporting purposes. If the high incident rate is because of this, contact our Teads Customer Experience representative for recommendations on which Grapeshot segments to apply in order to provide closer alignment with DoubleVerify's reporting.
